The Installation Process
To install an interior waterproofing system, first, we excavate a trench in your basement floor about 5.5 inches in front of the affected wall to expose the join between the wall and the foundation footing. Next, we fit a PVC drain channel against the wall in the trench to catch the water under the floor and channel it to a gravity discharge line or sump pump system. We then fasten a vapor barrier to the basement wall and tuck it into the floor drain to catch any water seepage above the floor and channel it into the drain system. Lastly, we back-fill the drain with #57 drainage stone and seal it with a waterproof concrete mixture to match the existing floor for a neat appearance.
